I just update to wordpress 2.5.1. It was a breeze, upload the code, run the upgrade link, wam 5 second and it’s done. I just don’t understand why so many blog had problem with their upgrade? Maybe the amount of plugin and customization they had. I have remove almost all plugin and only the essential remain. Why? Plugin drains memories and slow down the blog. I have also moved to lxadmin a light weight control panel which required less ram. I am using non-managed VPS with 128 ram running lighthttpd. Lighthttpd is lighter than apache which probably make this site runs a bit faster than it used to. However setting lighthttpd was no easy task. Unlike apache lighthttpd does not use .htaccess which means all my links are pointing to 404 page and so is my rss feed. My rss feed have been down since I went online. After some research I understand why so few people used lighthttpd for wordpress. Another blogger state after hours of tweaking and after cutting off his left testicle, he had finally got it working. That kind of worries me. With a penknife heated and sterilize, I make managed to finally a solution and yes my testicles are still intact. All that is left to do now is to find a new theme.
